Using children’s artwork to make a house into a home

I’m sure you know by now that I love artwork by children. Aside from seeing the world through a child’s eyes, children’s art is perfect for turning a house into a home!

We love our screen printed softies/cushions, but here are some other ideas…

A machine-embroidered cushion. (My special aunt made this one and sent me this image with the note “inspired by you”. I love it, Annemieke!)

My friend Emily had stationery made from her daughter’s family portrait – and it looks so stylish!

Be sure to check out this tutorial for featuring your child’s artwork on a teatowel.

I love this display of children’s art (unfortunately the original website was not linked to this pin on Pinterest). You could regularly change out the drawings if you wanted to.

Here’s an old one from the archives – a combined effort between Aaron, Hannah and myself, for Phil’s birthday in 2009. The children drew a range of pictures which I painted and stitched onto canvas, before stretching it onto a wooden frame.

Home decorating aside, there are also various apps for recording and storing your children’s artwork. Like this one.

What will you do with your child’s masterpiece?
